My name is Eric. I am very strong in my identity and I am proud to be both Maori and Deaf.   I love my communities and love to share my skills and support.

In the future I would like to work to raise awareness of our culture, and to ensure that Maori Deaf youth have the same access as everyone else, so that we are all on the same path and there is no one left behind.

Be. Leadership has allowed me to reflect more deeply on how to better support my community. I’m learning how to connect, influence and work with others. I’m also learning how to become surer of who I am, and able to express my needs and ideas.

The world is in a crisis at the moment, and this crisis is going to cause massive changes in the future. It is important that we learn to work together to support the people who are struggling, especially those with mental health problems.
